Hong Kong’s commitment to green building

Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) represents Hong Kong and its ambitions for a transformation to a sustainable built environment on an international stage.

Through our purpose-led approach, we worked hand-in-hand with the council to brand the market transformation of a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong and beyond. International and local Hong Kong industry media picked up and ran with this forward-looking brand story that everyone can relate to.

A mark of excellence

BEAM Society is a non-profit organisation committed to promoting and developing BEAM assessment tools used in assessing green buildings and for training industry professionals. On a per capita basis, BEAM is one of the most widely used voluntary green building labelling schemes of its kind in the world.

Our brief was to capture the purpose of BEAM Society to inspire sustainable building development across Asia Pacific, while educating stakeholders and the public in green building best practice. The work included a tiered labeling system; Gold, Silver, Bronze for each of BEAM and BeamPlus accreditations.

Maximizing Zero

ZCB is the first Zero Carbon Building in Hong Kong. Developed by the Construction Industry Council in collaboration with the Hong Kong Government, it aims to showcase state-of-the art eco-building design and technologies with the purpose of raising awareness of low carbon living in Hong Kong. Sedgwick Richardson was engaged to create a brand that encapsulated the essence of these environmental commitments.

The fluidness of the brand mark we created for ZCB signifies the offset of operating energy consumed, with on-site renewable energy generation, and the higher purpose of inspiring positive change in both the public and private sectors.
