Winning isn’t everything | SGX charity futsal 2017

6 October 2017 2 min read

The ‘Oranges’ may not have the same ring as the iconic ‘Blues’ or ‘Reds’, but this year’s SGX Charity Futsal* event held at the Home United Football Academy proved to be a game changer.

Limbering up whilst the air was still fresh, with illuminous t-shirts at the ready and an army of supporters waiting eagerly at the sidelines, this could only mean one thing, the Sedgwick Richardson football team were back, for what promised to be a competitive and lively match with only a hint of sunburn.

The day kicked-off with a special guest appearance from footballing legend Fandi Ahmad followed by an inspiring performance from our team of talented footballers – the boys from REACH who flew the orange flag for Sedgwick Richardson. Thanks to their dedication and the loyal Sedgwick Richardson supporters who made sure the boys were fed, hydrated and of course on brand, the team steadily climbed up the ranks to the semi-finals where everything was to play for right up until the final whistle.

Out of the 31 teams in attendance Sedgwick Richardson sprinted into fourth position being narrowly pipped to the post in a nail biting battle for third place.

Although this meant not taking home any metal, we thoroughly enjoyed this year’s game. Here’s to another epic orange performance!

*SGX Charity Futsal, part of the annual SGX Bull Charge series, now in its fourth year brings together Singapore’s financial community and listed companies to support the needs of underprivileged children and families, people with disabilities and the elderly.

How can we help?
