The role

Sedgwick Richardson is seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join our growing sustainability practice – consulting to Asia’s leading organisations to improve their positive social and environmental impact. Join us to build belief in the future through:

As a Sustainability Consultant at Sedgwick Richardson you’ll be respected for your strong research, stakeholder engagement, technical reporting knowledge and strategic intellect. Alongside demonstrable client management skills, you’ll have experience in engaging and advising listed companies on sustainability/ESG frameworks (GRI, IIRC, UNGC/UNPRI/UNPSI, SASB, TCFD, etc.) and ratings (MSCI, CDP, Sustainalytics, DJSI, FTSE4Good, S&P, etc.).

Responsibilities: Research, Insight, Sustainability Strategy and Reporting

  • Work with clients and SR’s consultants to define the brief: the scope of the project, including research methodologies
  • Lead primary research assignments including stakeholder interviews, focus groups and surveys, as well as conducting desk research when required
  • Analyse and turn data and research insights into strategic recommendations
  • Working with our Directors and Advisors, turn sustainability visions into tailored action plans that work in the real world
  • Contribute to advising and engaging Board/ C-suite to understand, embed and leverage sustainability, including guiding them through the various sustainability frameworks and rating requirements
  • Support technical leadership across the full suite of sustainability services — from peer and best practice benchmarking, stakeholder engagement and materiality, to developing strategies with effective pillars, goals, targets and action plans, to data collection / measurement tools, meeting reporting and rating requirements and advising on best practice governance and policy systems
  • Involvement in ensuring SR’s sustainability policies and practices are up to date

About you

  • Passionate about sustainability and the need to turn strategy into action
  • Familiar with supporting teams to scope new projects and contributing to pitch proposals
  • Working knowledge of the most common sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, including GRI Standards, IIRC, HKEX requirements and sustainability raters’ parameters
  • Experienced in analysing environmental, social and governance data
  • Proven project management skills, including client management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Cantonese is required, with Putonghua seen as an advantage
  • Calm under pressure and empathetic
  • Powerful intellectual curiosity to inspire all that you work with
  • Bachelor’s degree covering the areas of sustainability, climate science, environmental studies/science/engineering, human/labour rights, business sustainability, or related fields
